Dear Friend,
God speaks to us in His Word and through His Works―through what He has spoken to us in His revealed Word, the Bible, and through what He has made, in the book of nature. As the psalmist says, “The heavens declare the glory of the Lord.” So what better way to spend a vacation than to combine them both!
With that in mind, I want to invite you to join me, my wife Teresa, and the many friends of Denton Bible Church, for a rich time of fellowship as we journey to Alaska aboard the ms Westerdam.
We will begin our seven-day trip in Seattle and journey through Alaska’s Inside Passage where we will view some of God’s most majestic creation. Teresa and I hope you can join us.
This brochure describes the historic sites and the magnificent scenery that we will see as we share these days together. I will be leading several times of study in the Book of Ecclesiastes and we will be sharing sweet times of worship also.
We are happy to be working again with Inspiration Cruises & Tours to plan this trip. Call their toll free number at (800) 247-1899 for more information or visit our website at www.dentonbible.org. My wife and I look forward to seeing you in June.
Yours in Christ,
Tommy Nelson

Departing from Seattle, WA • June 22, 2008
Day at Sea (June 23)
Cruising Glacier Bay National Park (June 24, 10:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.) –This is truly a high point of your voyage ― cruising Glacier Bay. You sail quietly over still waters and watch as massive slabs of ice break off the glacial walls and thunder into the bay. Look for wildlife sharing the serenity of this beautiful bay: whales, otters, seals, eagles, and a large variety of marine birds. An onboard naturalist is there to answer all of your questions.
Juneau (June 25, 7:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.)–Located at the foot of grand mountain peaks on the Gastineau Channel, the town of Juneau has the massive Mendenhall Glacier and the immense Juneau Icefields at its back door. Visit the rustic shops in town. Or get out and kayak, dogsled, raft, bike, hike, heli-hike, flightsee, or fish. There’s no end to the adventure because we’re in port long enough to truly take advantage of the long daylight hours.
Sitka (June 26, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.)–Sitka is blessed with abundant marine wildife. Get out on the water aboard a dayboat or kayak, and you’ll pass seal haul-outs and seabird rookeries filled with nature’s sights and sounds.
Ketchikan (June 27, 7:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.)–Built out over the water and climbing weathered stairways, Ketchikan clings to the shores of Tongass Narrows. Visit Creek Street, the Tongass Historical Museum, Totem Bight State Park, and the Saxman Village. There are numerous galleries exhibiting Native art and works by talented local artisans. A floatplane flightseeing trip to breathtaking Misty Fjords National Monument is a transforming adventure not to be missed.
Victoria, B.C., Canada (June 28, 6:00 p.m.–Midnight)–Stroll through the charming downtown of this very British city, with its double-decker buses, turreted castles, fine British woolens, tea, and china. Or just outside the city, visit the lush flora and fauna of Butchart Gardens.
