Dear Friends,

Keeping a right focus is never easy, especially amid the rigors of daily life.  Busy schedules seem to draw our attention away from more meaningful pursuits like family, friends, and our relationship with God.  That’s why it’s important to take the time to get away–to relax, refresh our hearts, and refocus our priorities.

With that in mind, I want to invite you to join me, Patricia, and friends of Grace to You from around the country for a glorious time of fellowship aboard the ms Statendam.

On June 21, 2008, we’ll begin a seven-day trip through some of God’s most scenic creation. We’ll depart from Vancouver, B.C., Canada and chart our course through Alaska’s majestic Inside Passage. I hope you can join us.

This brochure describes the spectacular scenery and historic ports of call we’ll enjoy as we share time with like-minded believers around the riches of God’s Word. I’ll lead several times of study in the Scriptures that will renew your heart before the Lord in an intimate, personal setting.

We’re pleased to be working with Inspiration Cruises & Tours to arrange this trip. They’re committed to providing you with a wonderful experience aboard the ms Statendam.  Call their toll-free number for more information–there’s no obligation and they’ll give you all the help you need. I look forward to seeing you in June!

Yours in Christ,
John MacArthur

Departing from Vancouver, B.C., Canada • June 21, 2008

Juneau (Mon., June 23, 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.)–Located at the foot of grand mountain peaks on the Gastineau Channel, the town of Juneau has the massive Mendenhall Glacier and the immense Juneau Icefields at its back door. Visit the rustic shops in town. Or get out and kayak, dogsled, raft, bike, hike, heli-hike, flightsee, or fish. There’s no end to the adventure because we’re in port long enough to truly take advantage of the long daylight hours.

Skagway (Tues., June 24, 7:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m.)–The sidewalks are all but rolled up in Skagway come winter, so you can only imagine the frightful conditions endured by the gold prospectors who passed through en route to the Yukon, with a mandatory ton of supplies to be hauled with them over the steep and treacherous Trail of ‘98. Today, summertime visits to Skagway require nothing of the sort, but you can still ride the antique White Pass & Yukon narrow-gauge railway up through silvery-purple rock faces, past Deadhorse Gulch, to see what it was like back then.

Cruising Glacier bay National Park (Wed., June 25, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.)–This is truly a high point of your voyage — cruising Glacier Bay. You sail quietly over still waters and watch as massive slabs of ice break off the glacial walls and thunder into the bay. Look for wildlife sharing the serenity of this beautiful bay: whales, otters, seals, eagles, and a large variety of marine birds. An onboard naturalist is there to answer all of your questions.

Ketchikan (Thurs., June 26, 2:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.)–Built out over the water and climbing weathered stairways, Ketchikan clings to the shores of Tongass Narrows. Visit Creek Street, the Tongass Historical Museum, Totem Bight State Park, and the Saxman Village. There are numerous galleries exhibiting Native art and works by talented local artisans. A floatplane flightseeing trip to breathtaking Misty Fjords National Monument is a transforming adventure not to be missed.
